Two certificates from the SPSBS Award scheme 2016.

Really proud to receive two certificates from the SPSBS Award scheme 2016. Many thanks to the SPSBS and all those who have helped to make this possible.

Merrylees Satchmo, winning the leading sire of the year. This amazing piebald stallion was breed by Mick and Judy Freer. Satchmo was born with that special wow factor, which he still has at the age of sixteen. I will never forget the first day we saw him at Reading sales as a foal. This little colt was always coming back to Snelsmore. Who would have thought our sale purchase would have such a big impact in our breeding programme. Satchmo has sired sixty foals, many of which have seen success in the show ring, become excellent brood mares and future stallion’s worldwide. A truly great stallion and a pleasure to own.

Equal second for our yearling Snelsmore Spectre. This lovely colt is by another young Merrylees stallion; Merrylees Talisman, and out of Snelsmore Libby who is by Snelsmore Calipso out of an Island bred mare Grutness Evlora. Spectre pedigree and show success suggests one day he might follow in Satchmo’s footsteps with any luck.
