Okehampton Agricultural show: Homeward bound

I was born in Hatherleigh just outside Okehampton so it was especially nice to go back to my home town to show our ponies and catch up with family, I only wish my mum was still around to have seen me compete, she always loved watching the ponies.
The day started well with no hold ups on the four hour journey, but before we could have our usual cup of tea and croissant on the show ground we had to be towed into the lorry park. Cliff and Merrylees Nuggett were first to perform under Mr I Bailey and finished with a winning the stallion class, followed by Snelsmore Quedesha and myself also winning a large mare class. Our two young colts Snelsmore Rembrandt and Snelsmore Sebastian came out rather full of them selves. The journey hadn’t tried these two at all, so plenty of walking and patients was needed before we could earn a first and third place in the two & three year class. Rembrandt continued to be Junior Champion and Reserve Miniature behind Cliff and Nuggett. A lovely Agricultural show and I’m sure we will be back there next year.
